Frequently asked questions.
What is the recommended way to wash my custom shirt?
It is recommended that garments be turned inside out and washed in cold water, then tumble dry low.
What is the custom shirt process?
After your order is placed, you will receive an email (unless another communication method is noted) within 48 hours with suggested times/dates for a design consultation. You may select from the list of options or request more time slots that work better for your schedule. Consultations will only be evenings and weekends.
Once a time slot is agreed upon, you will receive an invite for web-based meeting (Google Meet or Zoom). During the consultation, we will review the details submitted (sizes, color, names, etc.) and discuss design options. The meeting should last 30 - 60 minutes. After the meeting, you will be emailed a mockup of the potential design. It is crucial that you respond to this email, as manufacturing will not proceed until art is approved. If you purchased design services above the basic level, you have the option to schedule another meeting to revise the art.
Once art has been approved, the shirt will be manufactured using one or more of the following techniques: DTF (direct-to-film) transfers, HTV (Heat Transfer Vinyl), Screen printed transfers, Hybrid transfers, Sublimation transfers. The majority of orders will use DTF and/or HTV. Then you will received your item based on your selected delivery method. If you selected pickup in Euless, TX; you will need to schedule a pick up time. This will most likely be discussed during the design consultation.
How long does it take to get my custom shirt?
In general, custom shirts can be expected in 3 weeks. Please allow 1 week for design work, 1 week for manufacturing, and 1 week for shipping. If the design consultation is scheduled further out, that may delay your order. If you elected to pick up your order at an event, your order will not be ready until the selected event occurs. Please note: orders will not ship until they are complete. So if your order contains a second item with a longer lead time, it could take longer than the standard 3 weeks to receive your order.
If you are needing a quick turnaround, it is recommended to order the custom shirts separately from other items.
When can I expect sold out items to be available?
I am still setting up contracts and designs with my suppliers. As soon as the products are available to me, they will be available to you. I am working diligently to get more products set up. If you are interested in a particular item, please contact me via the website or send an email to melynda@meltshirts.com to let me know. For example, I am interested in a royal puzzle hoodie size XL and a red, white, and blue headband. I will make sure my initial order includes your selection.
I am hoping to get have most items available for sale by end of November and all items available by end of December.
Why do some products have longer lead times?
Some products have a longer lead time due to multi-step manufacturing process. For example, puzzle hoodies need to have the hoodie liner printed and sewn in, the zipper pull created and attached, and the DTF/HTV printed and applied.
